Ben & Jerry's Introduces Vegan Phish Food

Ben & Jerry's has just made Phish Food vegan!! 

This iconic flavor, which was created in 1997 in collaboration with Phish,  a Vermont-based Rock band!! Marshmallows, caramels, and fish-shaped fudge were blended into chocolate ice cream to make this decadent concoction. 

Now, thanks to an almond milk base, this dessert is both vegan and certified gluten free!! This vegan version will also support the WaterWheel Foundation which aims to clean up the Lake Champlain watershed from pollution. To celebrate the arrival of this Vegan favorite, Ben & Jerry's is hosting a fun art contest. Enter the "Strange Design Art Contest" by 28 February 2021 and enjoy gifts and treats when you win!!

Butter Flavor Popcorn Allergy Alert

A voluntarily recall of one lot of 8 oz. Butter Flavored Popcorn has been made by Bickel’s Snack Foods, Inc.

The recall was the result of  undeclared milk presence. 

The bags bear the following:

The bags were was sold to distributors in Georgia and North Carolina Andean be found in Publix Super Markets. This product should be discarded or returned to Publix for a full refund.

Frito-Lay Recalls Ruffles Originals for Undeclared Allergen

Frito-Lay has issued a voluntary recall for the 13 1/2 oz. “Party Size” bags of Ruffles Original Potato Chips. They may contain undeclared milk ingredients. People with milk allergy or severe sensitivity may have adverse allergic reaction if they consume this product. 


The products included in this recall were distributed to retail stores in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Arkansas.

Frito-Lay has informed the FDA of the action.Consumers can return the product to a retailer for a refund.

Hiland Dairy has announced the recall of the one-half pint (236 mL) 1% low fat chocolate milk produced at its Norman, Oklahoma facility due to possible contamination with food-grade sanitizers. The product could cause illness if consumed. The affected products were sold and distributed in:

  • Western Oklahoma
  • Dallas, Texas
  • San Antonio, Texas
  • Tyler, Texas

Lake Champlain Milk Chocolate Recall

Lake Champlain Chocolates (LCC) had issued a public alert and a voluntary recall on select LCC milk chocolates due to contamination with foreign objects. LCC issued this recall after a consumer found plastic pieces a product. The dates on the packaging affected by this recall are from July 2020 through to January 2021.

These products can be found within a variety of other gift packages, boxes and baskets.  They were distributed via retailers and distributors in all 50 states as well as in the company’s three Vermont retail stores.

LCC has informed the FDA of this voluntary recall and asked customers to  throw away these products. Customers can check if they are affected by checking the Best By Date near the UPC code on the package.

Maggi at weddings? Yes you read it right!! At a wedding in India, last week, guests were surprised and delighted to find their childhood favorite being whipped up fresh to order. A twitter user posted this story that subsequently went viral. As many will know, Maggi is a much loved treat in India.
